SpeedWork Symposium
- Venue:
- House for an Art Lover, Bellahouston Park
- Time:
- 10am–5pm
The democratic use of public space as a place for free and creative expression. A symposium to discuss public art commissioning in relation to Jacqueline Donachie’s residency and new work in Bellahouston Park. Using examples of innovative, challenging and exceptional works commissioned for public spaces, on varying scales and of both a permanent and temporary nature, the day will provide a platform for discussion from local and international standpoints within the context of a public park.
Keynote presentations from commissioning organisations Situations, Bristol, Berlin Sculpture Park, and Deveron Arts, Huntly, will be followed by a session on Glasgow’s past, present and future potential featuring A New Path, a public art project being developed by Jenny Crowe and Sorcha Dallas. This session will include contributions from artists Toby Paterson, Graham Fagen and Jacqueline Donachie. Chaired by Moira Jeffrey.
Open to the public. Booking required.
